Overview & Framework Record

Asessment. To perform a full assessment using the Luminous Enneagram methodology, follow these steps:

  1. Identify the Assessment Domain: Focus on the type pattern, which includes the core type, wing, instinctual variant, integration/disintegration direction, developmental stage interaction, and somatic type pattern.
  1. Gather Relevant Information:
  1. Conduct Somatic Mapping:
  1. Use Luminous Gift Names™: Frame the assessment positively by identifying the individual’s type as a sacred gift rather than a pathology. For example, instead of calling someone a "Perfectionist," refer to them as "The Sacred Perfectionist."
  1. Integrate with IFS (Internal Family Systems): Recognize that the individual’s type is a constellation of internal parts. Map these parts to understand their motivations and behaviors more effectively.
  1. Engage with the Three Centers of Intelligence: Encourage the individual to explore their gut, heart, and head centers, recognizing which one they trust most and which one they tend to neglect.
  1. Consider Dynamic Dimensions: Assess the influence of wings, arrows of integration and disintegration, and instinctual variants to provide a comprehensive view of the individual's personality structure.
  1. Facilitate Developmental Sensitivity: Tailor the assessment to the individual’s current developmental stage, providing insights that are relevant to their unique growth journey.
  1. Document Findings: Create a detailed report summarizing the assessment, highlighting the individual's gifts, areas for growth, and suggestions for integrating insights into their life.
  1. Follow-Up: Establish a plan for ongoing support and check-ins to monitor progress and encourage continuous development.

This methodology allows for a holistic understanding of the individual, emphasizing their strengths and potential for growth within the framework of the Luminous Enneagram.

Best Practices. 1. Use Luminous Gift Names — every type is a sacred gift, not a pathology.

  1. Always combine with developmental stage — type without stage is dangerously incomplete.
  2. Pair with IFS immediately — type IS a parts configuration.
  3. Work with all three centers — don't just develop your dominant center.
  4. Ground type in the body — where does your type live somatically?
  5. Don't let type become an excuse — "I'm a 4, I'm supposed to be dramatic" is the ego using the Enneagram.
  6. In teams, map type AND instinctual variant diversity.
  7. Use integration/disintegration arrows as developmental maps.
  8. Combine with MBTI for the richest typological portrait.
  9. Remember: the Enneagram at its deepest is a spiritual technology pointing toward essential nature, not just personality.
